Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan responds to comments about explicit scenes

Nicola Coughlan, star of Bridgerton, responded humorously to a fan who called her “very brave” for filming nude scenes during a Q&A at the Lighthouse Cinema in Dublin, Ireland. 

Coughlan joked, “You know, it is hard, ’cause I think women with my body type, women with perfect breasts… We do not get to see ourselves onscreen enough,” in a video shared on X.

She added, “I am a proud member of the perfect breasts community, and I hope you enjoy seeing them.” Coughlan also expressed concern about her family watching the intimate scenes, suggesting they might close their eyes during those parts, as reported by The Irish Times.

In a May interview with Stylist, Coughlan explained why she chose to be “very naked” in the show, saying it felt empowering and a way to challenge conversations about her body. She noted, “I felt beautiful in the moment, and I thought: ‘When I’m 80, I want to look back on this and remember how f***ing hot I looked!’”

In 2022, Coughlan asked fans on Instagram to stop sending opinions about her body directly to her, highlighting the emotional toll of receiving numerous comments daily. “If you have an opinion about me, that’s OK... but I beg you not to send it to me directly,” she wrote.
