Kevin Spacey admits financial ruin
In an interview with Piers Morgan on his YouTube show "Piers Morgan Uncensored," Kevin Spacey revealed the extent of his financial troubles, disclosing that he is broke and in significant debt.
Spacey, who has been living in Baltimore since 2012 when he began shooting "House of Cards," shared that his financial struggles have led to his home being foreclosed and sold at auction. "I can't pay the bills that I owe," Spacey admitted. "My house is being sold at auction, so I have to go back to Baltimore and put all my things in storage."
Spacey, who moved into his current residence in 2016 with friends Evan and Lucy, now faces uncertainty about his living situation. When asked by Morgan if he was facing bankruptcy, Spacey responded, "There have been a couple of times when I thought I was going to file, but we've managed to dodge it, at least as of today."
The actor's financial woes are compounded by the millions of dollars in legal bills he still owes. "It's considerable. Millions. Many millions," Spacey stated. Despite these challenges, he remains determined to move forward. "Get back on the horse," he said, expressing his resolve to overcome his financial difficulties.

This interview marks Spacey's first high-profile appearance since facing numerous sexual misconduct allegations in 2017. Following these allegations, Netflix cut ties with Spacey, removing him from the final season of "House of Cards" and shelving his biopic of Gore Vidal. Additionally, his role in Ridley Scott's "All the Money in the World" was reshot with Christopher Plummer.
Despite these setbacks, Spacey has consistently denied the accusations and was found not liable in a 2022 New York lawsuit. In a separate case in London, he was acquitted of sexual assault charges by a jury in 2023.
Spacey's disclosure of his financial troubles adds a new dimension to his public struggles, highlighting the personal and professional challenges he continues to face. "I have to get back on the horse," Spacey reiterated, determined to rebuild his life despite the significant obstacles in his path.
