Sara Ramírez has filed for divorce from their spouse, Ryan DeBolt, three years following the announcement of their separation.

According to legal documents obtained by PEOPLE, the 48-year-old former ‘And Just Like That…’ star cited irreconcilable differences as the grounds for their split from DeBolt, whom they married in 2012.

Ramírez, who publicly came out as non-binary in 2020 and prefers they/them pronouns, specified the separation date as January 2018, which predates their social media announcement of the split by over three years.

In a now-deleted Instagram post from July 2021, as reported by Out Magazine, Ramírez disclosed, "Ryan and I are no longer together. We remain loving and supportive in how we are choosing to forge our new individual paths."

"Thank you for holding space around our choices and respecting our families' privacy as we navigate this process on our own terms," the statement continued.

In the divorce petition, initially reported by TMZ, the former ‘Grey's Anatomy' actor also sought the division of their assets according to the terms outlined in their prenuptial agreement and requested that the court refrain from awarding spousal support to either party.
