Rebel Wilson excited to meet fiancée's parents despite cultural differences
Rebel Wilson and her fiancée Ramona Agruma have been engaged for over a year, but the actress has not yet met her future in-laws.
In a video interview with Today.com shared on Tuesday, June 11, the 44-year-old ‘Rebel Rising' author explained that cultural differences contribute to why she has not met Agruma’s parents in person, despite the couple going public with their relationship in June 2022.
“Ramona was born in Latvia, and it’s not as LGBTQ+-friendly as other countries are,” Wilson said of her partner’s European upbringing.
“I just think some people need a bit more time — and some people won’t ever come around to it, and that’s fine, and that’s their decision,” she added. “There are still parts of the world that aren’t as accepting.”
Nevertheless, the 'Pitch Perfect’ star is excited about their upcoming meeting, as the couple plans to travel to Europe in a few weeks.
“I’m really excited to meet them because I know they are very smart. Ramona’s mother is a doctor,” Wilson said while discussing Arguma's parents.
Arguma is the founder and designer of Lemon Ve Limon, a sustainable clothing company based in Los Angeles.
Wilson added that their 19-month-old daughter, Royce Lillian, born via surrogate in November 2022, has made the upcoming meeting with Agruma’s parents more manageable.
“Roycie is the real icebreaker — they’ve been FaceTiming with her,” the ‘Bridesmaids’ alum said.
