Police say robbers got away with Rs17.5m worth of valuables

Four robbers broke into the house of a former government officer in the Officers Colony and got away with cash, gold jewellery and watches worth more than Rs17.5 million.

According to the police, the robbers also took the DVR of the CCTV cameras installed in the house for security, similar to the incident in the Rawat area a couple of days ago.

Police have registered a case and started an investigation.

The police said that a former government officer residing in the area of Officer Colony Wah Cantt, whose wife is a well-known gynaecologist and his son is associated with the construction business said that the four armed suspects were aged between 22 and 30 years and were clad in shalwar kameez. They entered the house, tied them with ropes and threatened to kill them.

They broke locks of the cupboards of the house they looted cash Rs5.8, jewellery worth Rs.6 million, 16,135 dollars worth over Rs.2.8 million, watches worth Rs.2.6 million, Perfumes worth Rs150,000, 200 rounds of 9 mm pistol, spectacles worth Rs18,000 and wallets worth Rs54,000.
