Colin Farrell's transformation into the Penguin in Matt Reeves' The Batman was a standout performance, with the actor's portrayal and the exceptional work of the makeup artists making the character a favorite among DC fans.

This acclaim has paved the way for Max's The Penguin series, which has just received its most significant release date update yet.

Casey Bloys, chairman and CEO of HBO and Max, shared in an interview with Variety that The Penguin spinoff series is set to premiere in September.

The Batman, which hit theaters in March, will have its sequel, The Batman - Part II, released on October 2, 2026, after a delay.

Farrell's Penguin will be joined by Cristin Milioti, who plays Sofia Falcone, the daughter of Carmine Falcone from The Batman.

The September debut of The Penguin aligns with the first project in the new DC Universe.

While James Gunn's Superman reboot is slated for a 2025 release, the DCU will begin later this year with the adult animated series Creature Commandos.

Although the exact release date remains undisclosed, actor Sean Gunn mentioned that Creature Commandos will also premiere in the fall, alongside The Penguin.
