Former President Donald Trump has shared his thoughts on pop star Taylor Swift, focusing particularly on her appearance and political stance.

Trump shared his opinions on the pop icon in his  new book titled "Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass."

The book, written by Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh, provides insights into Trump's reflections on various celebrities he encountered during his years as a reality TV star.

During a conversation with Setoodeh in November 2023, Trump expressed admiration for Swift’s looks, stating, “I think she’s beautiful — very beautiful! I find her very beautiful. I think she’s liberal. She probably doesn’t like Trump. I hear she’s very talented,” he continued. “I think she’s very beautiful, actually — unusually beautiful!”

Despite his praise for her appearance, Trump seemed uncertain about her political views, questioning whether her liberal stance was genuine or an act.

“She is liberal, or is that just an act? She’s legitimately liberal? It’s not an act? It surprises me that a country star can be successful being liberal.”

Swift, who transitioned from country music to pop with her 2012 album “Red,” publicly endorsed Democratic candidates in 2018, marking a shift from her previously neutral political stance.

On Instagram, she criticised candidate Marsha Blackburn’s voting record and endorsed Tennessee Democratic candidates Phil Bredesen for Senate and Jim Cooper for House of Representatives.

Swift later supported Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the 2020 election and criticised Trump’s handling of the George Floyd protests.

In the book, Trump also mentions other celebrities, including Garth Brooks, questioning how liberal views align with country music success. “Garth Brooks is liberal. Explain that! How does it happen?” he mused.

"Apprentice in Wonderland" will be published by HarperCollins on June 18, featuring Trump’s candid opinions on various public figures, including Kim Kardashian, Debra Messing, Omarosa Manigault, Geraldo Rivera, Martha Stewart, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
