Sofia Vergara has opened up about the psychological toll of playing "Cocaine Godmother" Griselda Blanco, revealing how the intense filming schedule affected her personal life.

During a Netflix FYSEE event, the 51-year-old actress suggested that her challenging role in the Netflix show "Griselda" may have contributed to her divorce from Joe Manganiello.

Vergara, who took on the role in early 2022 while still married to Manganiello, noted, "I barely slept in my own bed, staying in motels near the set. I found it difficult to relax after long days being in character." She added, "Your body doesn’t know that you’re not really feeling all those things of anxiety and fear... I had to start taking something to fall asleep."

Reflecting on the impact of her role, Vergara remarked, "Now that I think about it, I got a divorce." She mentioned how the grueling schedule and the intensity of the role might have played a part in their separation. Joe Manganiello filed for divorce in 2023, listing their separation date as July 2, 2023.

Previously, Vergara had told Spanish media that their split was due to differing views on having children. She explained, "My husband was younger; he wanted to have kids, and I didn't want to be an old mom."

Despite the personal challenges, Vergara remains committed to her career and has since moved on, dating orthopedic surgeon Justin Saliman since October 2023.
