Jennifer Hudson and Common's relationship is thriving.

At the 2024 Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday, June 7, the 42-year-old host of The Jennifer Hudson Show provided People Magazine with an update on their relationship status, two years after initial dating speculation arose.

“Everything is wonderful,” Hudson commented. “That's all you need to know.”

In January, Hudson, 42, and Common, 52, seemingly affirmed speculation about their romance when the musician behind "The Light" made an appearance on her talk show.

He surprised her with a bouquet of flowers and shared insights into his romantic life.

"I'm in a relationship… with one of the most beautiful people I ever met in life,” he remarked, refraining from disclosing the identity of his partner. “She's smart, she loves God, she has something real down-to-earth about her, she's talented.”

The rapper playfully expressed his desire for his partner to be an EGOT winner, a status Hudson had already attained. Common then turned the question to the Dreamgirls star, who mentioned her contentment in her relationship, and inquired about his happiness in his own.

"This relationship is a happy place for me," Common replied.

"Seeing her happy actually makes me really happy. So, I'm very grateful. I thank God each and every day, and I'm just letting God guide this relationship."

The musician subsequently talked about their public appearance and revealing their relationship in an interview on Today with Hoda & Jenna.

He mentioned being a “very private” person regarding his personal affairs and matters he considers sacred, but expressed enjoyment in their time together on Hudson's show.

Speculation about their romance first arose in 2022 when the two Chicago natives were seen together in their hometown following the filming of their 2024 movie, Breathe.

Since then, they've been observed strolling hand in hand in New York City, enjoying a date night at MJ: The Musical in Chicago, and sitting courtside at both a Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers game in January.
