‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ Thorsten Kaye confessed not liking award shows until Daytime Emmys win
Thorsten Kaye took home the award for outstanding lead performance in a daytime drama series: actor on Friday, June 7, for his portrayal of Ridge Forrester in ‘The Bold and the Beautiful.’
During his acceptance speech, Kaye expressed gratitude to both his fellow cast members and his supportive family members who have been there for him throughout his journey.
"I gotta be very honest, I don't like award shows," Kaye shrugged before joking, "I didn't like award shows until tonight. Now they make perfect sense!"
"The other thing that doesn't make sense is that anyone could do this alone. We can't. You need a great boss who sees you hears, you need a cast that tolerates you," he added. "You need a whole village of people that have agreed that they're not going to let you drown, not tonight. I have all of that so thank you."
"I've got Marlowe and McKenna — being your dad is the greatest honor of my life," he said as the camera turned to his daughter McKenna, wiping tears from her eyes. Kaye then appreciated his wife, and continued, "Susan, thank you for this beautiful kids and everything that you sacrificed did not go unnoticed. Thank you. Honey, I love you."
CBS shows mainly represented the category, with nominees including Eric Braeden from ‘The Young and the Restless,’ Thorsten Kaye, Scott Clifton, and John McCook from ‘The Bold and the Beautiful,’ and Eric Martsolf from ‘Days of Our Lives.
