Ed Sheeran, 33, revealed on the Wednesday, June 5 episode of the talk show ‘Therapuss with Jake Shane’ that he hasn't owned a mobile device since 2015.

The ‘Perfect’ singer shared that he “got rid” of his mobile phone almost a decade ago. “I haven’t had a phone since 2015,” he confessed.

The singer offered to give the host his email address instead of exchanging numbers. “I don’t have a number,” he said, “... that isn’t me playing you off either.”

Sheeran mentioned that his team recently provided him with a phone for necessary instances, like attending events such as the NBA Eastern Conference Finals game alongside singer Reneé Rapp on Thursday, May 23.

“I have something to like video stuff that would then go up on social media,” the ‘Shape Of You’ artist explained, “but it’s not like an active working phone.”

The ‘Photograph’ singer shared that his decision to do without a phone came about in December 2015 after realizing how many contacts he still had saved from before he got the fame.

“I had the same number from like age 15, I think,” he said, “and I got famous and I had 10,000 contacts in my phone that would just… people would just text the whole time. And I was just constantly in touch with a lot of people.”

“I feel like with phones, everyone expects you to reply, and if you don’t reply, it’s rude,” shared the singer.
