Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi ordered on Thursday a third party audit of all public sector universities in the province and facilitating the process of fact-finding inquiries there, and completing the investigation process as per law and merit.
Governor Kundi chaired a meeting regarding the departmental briefing by the Governor’s Inspection Team (GIT) at the Governor’s House. He ordered the Governor’s Secretariat to seek details related to third-party audit from all the universities.
In the meeting, GIT Chairman Mian Muhammad briefed the governor regarding departmental duties, structure, aims and objectives of the GIT, preparation and approval of the investigation report and the legal status of the department, rules and regulations.
Muhammad said that 54 inquiry reports of various public sector universities had been completed in the last four years. On this occasion, the governor emphasised the need for increasing efficiency of the department, considering the importance of the inspection team.
He stressed that all possible resources would be provided to strengthen the department at the financial and administrative level. He said that the inquiry report needed to be fully implemented and the investigation report should not be delayed for years.
Meanwhile, Nepal’s Ambassador to Pakistan Tapas Adhikari and Consul General of Afghanistan in Peshawar Hafiz Mohibullah called on the governor and discussed with him the issues of mutual interest, including increasing bilateral cooperation in K-P.
Speaking with Adhikari, Governor Kundi invited the business community of Nepal to visit K-P. He said that cooperation in the trade sector would be enhanced by the strong ties of the business community of both sides.
