Student, shopkeeper killed over enmity

Police register cases but no arrests have been made so far

RAWALPINDI:

A student and a shopkeeper were shot dead in two separate incidents in Rawalpindi on Friday.

According to the police, Aqib Javed told Gujar Khan police station that his younger brothers Adil Hussain and Atif Javed accompanied him to Government Higher Secondary School Panduri to collect the results and he dropped them there on a motorcycle and left for his workplace. Later, their class teacher Shuja Masood called and said congratulations, Adil Hussain and Atif Javed have passed their examinations.

He further said that around 3pm Shuja Masood called again and said that your brother Adil Hussain had been shot. When I reached the spot, my brother was lying injured against the wall; he was shot in the left side of the head and the pistol was lying two feet away on the other side.

The victim's brother said that on the morning of the incident and even before, his brother Adil had a harsh conversation with Bilal and his group. Schoolteacher Shuja also knows the truth and the incident of murder and he is also supporting the criminals and he is also involved. “When I reached the school, Bilal had left the school in a hurry. I strongly believe that Bilal has killed my brother.”

A case has been registered and the police are looking into the matter.

In another incident, Babar Hussain told police station Jatli that Mashkurul Haq is his maternal cousin, who has set up a small grocery shop in Ramzan Yasin's house. “Shahzadul Hasan and I were standing in front of the door outside the shop of Mashkurul Haq and Mashkur ul-Haq was sitting on a chair inside the shop and talking to us, when Abrar, Waqas and Umair stopped in front of the shop on a motorcycle. Abrar and Waqas got off the motorcycle and Abrar started firing at Mashkur and escaped.

Mashkur was shifted to a nearby hospital but he succumbed to his injuries. Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
