Canadian-born rapper Drake has had an eventful few months. With his rap feud with Kendrick Lamar simmering down, Drake has returned to his usual activity, sports gambling.

Recently, Drake shared his Stake bet on Instagram, wagering that the Dallas Mavericks would win the 2024 NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics. Despite his confidence, the Mavericks suffered a heavy 107-89 loss in Game 1. The "Drake curse," where teams he supports often lose, seems to be in effect. Drake risks losing $1.37 million if the Mavericks don't turn their performance around.

Drake’s Instagram post showed his confidence in the Mavericks, captioned “Cause I'm Texan.” However, Luka Dončić and the Mavericks were outmatched by Jayson Tatum and the Celtics. As Drake continues to support different sports teams, the "Drake curse" becomes more talked about. The next game is scheduled for June 9 in Boston.

In 2023, Drake mentioned during his "It's All A Blur" tour stop in Houston that he would soon become a Texas resident, reflecting his growing connection to the state.
