Jake Gyllenhaal's legal blindness sparks fan theories linking him to Taylor Swift's "All Too Well"

Swifties quickly connected the dots between Gyllenhaal's eyesight and a line in "All Too Well."

Jake Gyllenhaal disclosing his legal blindness, has ignited a wave of speculation among Taylor Swift fans, linking his condition to her song "All Too Well."

The Hollywood Reporter's profile on Gyllenhaal mentioned his 20/1250 vision, requiring him to wear thick corrective lenses. He even mentioned removing his contacts during an emotional scene in Southpaw to enhance his character's focus on listening.

Swifties, as Taylor Swift's fans are known, quickly connected the dots between Gyllenhaal's eyesight and a line in "All Too Well," a song widely believed to be about their brief romance. The lyrics "You used to be a little kid with glasses in a twin-size bed" suddenly took on a new meaning.

This isn't the first time fans have linked the song to Gyllenhaal. In 2020, he posted (and later deleted) a childhood photo of himself wearing glasses, prompting a flood of comments referencing the song.

Despite the fan theories, Gyllenhaal has previously distanced himself from the song, stating in a 2022 interview that it's about Swift's relationship with her fans and their shared experiences. He even admitted to not having listened to the re-recorded version of Red, which includes the extended 10-minute version of "All Too Well."

Regardless of Gyllenhaal's stance, the revelation of his legal blindness has added fuel to the speculation surrounding the song, solidifying its place in Swiftie lore.
