Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good recently attended the Frederick Douglass Awards, marking their first public appearance since Majors' sentencing for misdemeanour assault and harassment. The couple looked stunning in coordinated black outfits and shared their secret to a strong relationship: being present.

In an interview with PEOPLE on the red carpet, Majors and Good emphasised the importance of supporting each other and cherishing every moment. Good, honoured at the event for her work in philanthropy and her role in Prime Video's Harlem, spoke about the importance of staying positive and "just dancing no matter what."

Majors echoed Good's sentiments about being present and added that "learning" is also crucial in their relationship. The couple shared their summer plans, which include celebrating loved ones' birthdays and visiting Good's father in Hawaii.

The Frederick Douglass Awards, hosted by the New York Urban League, focused on the theme "Fight Today. Change Tomorrow: Voting & Civic Engagement." The event raised funds to support the Urban League's efforts to empower African Americans and other underserved communities through education, economic self-reliance, and civil rights advocacy.

Majors and Good's appearance at the awards gala comes after a challenging period for the couple. Majors faced trial for a domestic violence incident involving his ex-girlfriend, and Good stood by him throughout the legal process. Despite the adversity, the couple has emerged stronger and more committed to each other.

Their emphasis on presence, support, and learning serves as an inspiring reminder that even in difficult times, love and understanding can prevail.
