The first trailer for Minions & Monsters premiered during the 2026 Super Bowl

The Minions are returning to the big screen with a brand-new adventure, and their latest outing made its debut during the 2026 Super Bowl.
The first trailer for Minions & Monsters, the newest installment in the Despicable Me franchise, premiered on Sunday, February 8, offering fans a lively first look at the mischievous characters’ next chapter. The film follows the Minions as they take over Hollywood, become movie stars, lose everything, unleash monsters onto the world, and attempt to fix the chaos they created.
The trailer introduces new characters and settings while leaning heavily into the franchise’s signature humor. According to the film’s tagline, Hollywood has a monster problem, setting the tone for a story that blends fame, destruction, and redemption.
Produced by Illumination and distributed by Universal Pictures, Minions & Monsters arrives two years after Despicable Me 4 and four years after Minions: The Rise of Gru. The 2022 prequel was a major commercial success, earning more than $125 million during its opening weekend and ranking as the second-highest opening in the franchise.
The Despicable Me universe now includes four main films released between 2010 and 2024, along with two standalone Minions movies. The franchise centers on former supervillain Gru, voiced by Steve Carell, his adopted daughters Margo, Edith, and Agnes, and fan-favorite Minions Kevin, Stuart, and Bob.
Minions & Monsters is scheduled to hit theaters worldwide on July 1, 2026.
