Man, son sentenced to three years in jail

They were found guilty of assaulting two men with bat and stone

A court in Ghazi has sentenced a man and his son to three years in jail and imposed a fine of Rs80,000 on them.

Abdul Wahid and his son, Saif Al Wahid, were found guilty of assaulting Muhammad Naeem Khan and Muhammad Tayyab with a bat and a stone, causing injuries to their hand and head, respectively.

Judicial Magistrate Inayatullah Khan issued the sentence after finding Abdul Wahid and Saif Al Wahid guilty of the crimes. The court ordered their arrest, and they were subsequently sent to Central Jail Haripur.

The FIR of the incident was filed on February 24, 2022, by Muhammad Naeem Khan (son of Sardar Khan) and Muhammad Tayyab (son of Ortakzaib), residents of Qazipur in Ghazi Tehsil, involved Abdul Wahid and Saif Al Wahid attacking the victims with a bat and a stone. The case was registered at the Ghazi police station.

Two separate challans were presented in court: one against Abdul Wahid and another under the Juvenile Justice Act against the minor accused, Saif Al Wahid. After considering all evidence and witness statements, the court sentenced the father and son to one year in prison and a fine of Rs30,000 under Section 3371 of the PPC, and an additional two years in prison and a fine of Rs50,000 under Section 337FV of the PPC.

The accused were arrested in the courtroom and have been transferred to Central Jail Haripur.
