Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” has transcended music, impacting various cultural spheres such as politics, with its inclusion in a Joe Biden ad, and now even appearing in a weather report amid the ongoing Drake diss.
Houston meteorologist Adam Krueger cleverly incorporated K. Dot’s wordplay into the CW39 broadcast on Tuesday (June 4), using "Not Like Us" to describe the hot temperatures in Texas, likely surprising some of his viewers.
“Let’s say you want to travel somewhere cooler. How many opps you got? If you wanna pass on this heat like John Stockton you can go into the Northwest where there’s 60s and 70s for highs today,” he expressed, channeling his inner-Kendrick.
“So again, we got temperatures in the 90s, but it’s going to feel hotter for several days. Wop, wop, wop, wop!”
Krueger added, “this is not a major cold front. In fact, the general rule this time of year if it’s June and we’re talking about a cold front, it’s probably a minor.”
The meteorologist jumped into the comment section to clarify that he's not taking sides in the Kendrick-Drake rivalry.
“For the record, I’m not picking sides. I want no part of this beef,” he said.
As his final humorous touch, one camera angle revealed another camera with a printed-out photo of Drake taped beneath the lens.
It's worth noting that Adam Krueger is familiar with integrating rap lyrics into his broadcasts. He gained attention previously for blending verses from Eminem's "Without Me" and Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz's "Get Low" tracks.
Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at the top spot in May and is currently maintaining its position at No. 2 on the most recent chart.
