Murder suspect gets death on three counts

ABBOTTABAD:

A Child Protection Court in Abbottabad on Tuesday while giving its verdict in the horrific triple murder case in village Sumbal, in the jurisdictions of Donga Gali police station, awarded three times death sentences to the accused in two cases.

The court also awarded 12 years imprisonment to the accused besides imposing a Rs650,000 fine on him.

According to details, three years ago, accused Moeen son of Asghar had brutally killed two minor children and their grandmother. After an initial investigation, police arrested the accused in connection with murders and the hearing of the case was started in the Child Protection Court Abbottabad.

On Tuesday, after concluding the hearing of the arguments, the court delivered its judgment. The accused, Moeen, a resident of Sumbal, was sentenced to three counts of death under Section 302. Additionally, he was ordered to pay Rs500,000 in compensation to the families of the victims. Under Section 337, Moeen received a two-year prison sentence along with a Rs50,000 fine. Furthermore, under Section 324, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison and fined Rs100,000.

Advocate Owais Abbasi represented the complainant while Bushra Zaib led the prosecution. Following the announcement of the verdict, the complainant and Ejaz Abbasi while talking to the media, expressed their satisfaction with the court’s verdict.
