Prince William provided an update on the Princess of Wales' cancer recovery during a D-Day event with King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Attending the 80th anniversary of D-Day in Portsmouth alongside UK politicians and veterans, both Prince William and King Charles delivered speeches before mingling with attendees.

According to the Mirror, in a conversation with 100-year-old veteran Geoffrey Weaving, Prince William was asked, "I was going to ask you if your wife was getting any better?" And William replied: "Yes... she would have loved to have been here today." He added: "I was reminding everybody, her grandmother served at Bletchley so she would have had quite a bit in common with a few of the other ladies here who served at Bletchley but never spoke about it until the very end."

Kate's grandmother, Valerie Glassborow, worked at the WWII codebreaking center, which Kate visited in 2014, the Mirror noted.

This interaction occurred after King Charles and Queen Camilla appeared emotional listening to another veteran's war recollections.

The official British commemoration continues tomorrow at the British Normandy Memorial at Ver-sur-Mer with King Charles, President Macron, and Prime Minister Sunak. Prince William will attend additional events in Normandy, including a service at Juno Beach and a ceremony at Omaha Beach with over 25 heads of state.
