Sabrina Carpenter before gaining fame in the music industry, she was acting on the small screen.
Back in 2011, when she was just 11 years old, the singer debuted as an actress on ‘Law and Order: SVU.’ Recently, a clip resurfaced featuring Carpenter's character being interviewed by Christopher Meloni's Detective Elliot Stabler.
In season 12, episode 12, in the start, Carpenter is featured playing Paula, a victim of abuse by a sex trafficking ring.
Her two-minutes of screen time might not have marked her major breakthrough, but it was the beginning of a career that has taken the world by storm 13 years later.
Her acting journey progressed with recurring roles, notably in the sitcom ‘Goodwin Games’ in 2013, and then landing a lead role in ‘Girl Meets World’ on the Disney Channel a year later. The reboot of 'Boy Meets World' lasted for three years before concluding in 2017.
“That was my world and that was my everything and I was so proud to be a part of it and everything that it stood for,” said the ‘Espresso’ singer to Teen Vogue of the series in 2020.
“I definitely would have done some things different had I been doing it now, but I think the beauty of the show was that we really were at the age that we were playing and we were coming into ourselves as we were playing characters that were coming into themselves,” Carpenter continued.
Now, her latest song ‘Espresso’ has been no. 1 on Billboard’s Global Excl. US chart for four weeks in a row, staying on the chart for seven weeks overall.
Carpenter has announced her sixth studio album, Short n' Sweet, releasing on August 23.
