The event was a fast-paced affair, with the seven competitive awards and three career honours presented in 80 minutes.

The inaugural Gotham TV Awards, a night dedicated to celebrating excellence in television, saw "Baby Reindeer" and "Colin From Accounts" emerge as the big winners. "Baby Reindeer" captured the Breakthrough Limited Series award, while "Colin From Accounts" was the only two-time winner, securing Breakthrough Comedy Series and Outstanding Performance in a Comedy Series for Harriet Dyer.

The event, held on Tuesday, was a fast-paced affair, with the seven competitive awards and three career honours presented in just over 80 minutes. This marked the first time the Gotham Film & Media Institute held a separate event for television, having previously included TV awards in its film-centric gala.

Richard Gadd, creator and star of "Baby Reindeer," accepted the award on behalf of his collaborators, delivering a humorous yet heartfelt speech. He acknowledged the show's dark subject matter but emphasised the importance of perseverance for those struggling.

"Colin From Accounts," an Australian import now streaming on Paramount in the U.S., earned two awards, with Harriet Dyer's performance receiving special recognition.

The evening also honoured television veterans Mariska Hargitay of "Law & Order: SVU," Peter Morgan of "The Crown," and Lulu Wang of "Expats" with Anniversary, Creator, and Spotlight Tributes respectively.

Other winners included "Jerrod Carmichael Reality Show" for Breakthrough Nonfiction Series, Zine Tseng of "3 Body Problem" for Breakthrough Performance in a Drama, and Andrew Scott of "Ripley" for Outstanding Performance in a Limited Series.

Dyer's multiple appearances, both accepting awards and presenting, added a lively touch to the evening. Her charisma and talent were evident, further solidifying her win in the Outstanding Performance category.

Overall, the inaugural Gotham TV Awards proved to be a successful celebration of television's brightest stars and most innovative shows. The event highlighted the industry's diversity and talent, setting the stage for future editions of this promising awards ceremony.
