King Charles and David Beckham team up: A royal buzz at Highgrove
In a delightful confluence of royalty and celebrity, David Beckham visited King Charles at his picturesque Highgrove home in Gloucestershire, England, last Saturday.
During this royal rendezvous, Beckham was named ambassador of The King's Foundation, a charity founded by Charles in 1990 that focuses on community-led designs and rural education.
Beckham, who has cultivated his own beekeeping skills, expressed his enthusiasm about joining forces with the foundation.
"Having developed a love for the countryside, I’m also on a personal mission to learn more about rural skills which is so central to the foundation’s work," Beckham shared with Hello! Magazine.
He added, "It was inspiring to hear from the King about the work of His Majesty’s foundation during my recent visit to Highgrove Gardens — and compare beekeeping tips!"
The former football star’s appointment to the foundation is part of a broader effort to raise awareness and support educational programs that provide young people access to nature.
I’ve always been keen to help young people expand their horizons and I’m particularly looking forward to supporting the foundation’s education programs and its efforts to ensure young people have greater access to nature," Beckham continued.
At a recent event by the British Fashion Council Foundation, Beckham gifted the King a pot of his own honey, leading to a playful exchange about their hobby.
As King Charles continues his recovery from a recent health challenge, his engagements are being carefully managed.
Buckingham Palace remains positive about his progress and his return to royal duties has been met with careful planning to ensure his well-being.
