The family of actress Mamie Laverock is planning to take legal action against St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, Canada, after she fell from a five-story balcony. Laverock, a Hallmark Channel star, sustained life-threatening injuries in the fall and has undergone multiple surgeries.

Laverock's mother, Nicole Rockmann, told the Los Angeles Times that they have a "negligence-type case" against the hospital and are seeking accountability for the incident. "We have a case. All we care about is that Mamie can make a recovery and that she's alive and that she's fighting and that she's strong," Rockmann said.

Rockmann blamed the hospital for the fall, which she clarified was not intended and not a suicide attempt. "There will be accountability," she vowed.

St. Paul's Hospital confirmed that an incident occurred at the hospital, but could not provide further details due to patient privacy. The hospital also issued a statement expressing its condolences to Laverock and her family.

Laverock has undergone multiple surgeries and is currently recovering in a trauma centre. Her mother reported that she is in "tremendous pain" and remains sedated to stay still while recovering.

The family has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover some of Laverock's medical expenses. Rockmann provided an update on her daughter's condition, saying that she has undergone three operations so far and is "doing well" compared to when she arrived.
