Princess Lilibet turns 3: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrate with intimate party
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's youngest child, Princess Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, turned three years old on June 4th, 2024.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex kicked off the celebrations with a pre-birthday party at their Montecito, California home over the weekend as PEOPLE confirmed.
The intimate gathering included close friends and family, as well as some of Lilibet's friends.
Born in California in 2021, Princess Lilibet was named after her great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth II and her late grandmother Princess Diana.
Her birth announcement on the Archewell Foundation website referred to her as "Lili," a nickname that has stuck with her.
In March 2023, it was revealed that Lilibet and her older brother, Prince Archie, would be using their royal titles following their grandfather's accession to the throne.
Their titles were officially updated on the royal family's website, and they are now known as Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Prince Harry and Meghan have largely kept their children out of the spotlight since stepping back from their royal roles.
The world got its first glimpse of Lilibet on the Sussexes' 2021 holiday card, and the first official portrait was released on her first birthday.
The couple has shared glimpses of their daughter's personality over the years, describing her as "very chilled" and determined to "keep up" with her older brother.
They recently celebrated Archie's fifth birthday privately before embarking on their first official international trip to Nigeria. During the trip, Meghan revealed that Lilibet loves singing and dancing, while Archie enjoys construction and robotics.
