"Billie Went F—ing Crazy." SZA praises Billie Eilish's ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’
Billie Eilish's third studio album, "Hit Me Hard and Soft," has garnered high praise from fellow music star SZA.
The “Kill Bill” singer expressed her admiration on X, sharing her excitement about Eilish's latest project, which debuted on May 17.
"Billie went f—ing crazy. This album is gorgeous," SZA wrote.
Produced by Eilish's brother and longtime collaborator, Finneas, the 10-track album follows the success of her previous records, "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" and "Happier Than Ever."
Both albums previously achieved three-week stints at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Eilish took a non-traditional approach with "Hit Me Hard and Soft," opting not to release any singles prior to the album and focusing on delivering a complete artistic vision.
The album quickly made its mark, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart as of June 1. Eilish shared her personal connection to the project in an interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe, saying, "Every time you put anything out, it feels like your nudes leaked a little bit."
She elaborated on the creative freedom she and Finneas embraced, stating, "We kind of made the album that if somebody had said, ‘I want you to make an album and no one is going to hear it. You don’t have to worry about anyone’s ears or opinions or anything at all. It’s in your contract to make an album but no one can hear it.’ We pretty much made that album. We made that album without much thought of other people."
