Amy Robach shared how Rachel Platten's song 'Fight Song' had helped her through the tough times

In a recent episode of their "Amy & T.J." podcast, former GMA3 co-hosts Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes candidly discussed their experience of hitting "rock bottom" following their departure from ABC News after news of their romance surfaced.

Reflecting on the difficult period, Robach shared how Rachel Platten's song "Fight Song" had helped her through the tough times, especially after her breast cancer diagnosis and subsequent exit from GMA. She now finds solace in Platten's new track "Mercy," resonating with the singer's "zero f---s" attitude.

Robach emphasised the hard-earned liberation that comes with letting go, stating, "Like when you get to a place and it's hard earned, when you can give zero f---s, sometimes that's when you're at your best." Holmes echoed this sentiment, describing the process as "weird" but "freeing," acknowledging that it was necessary to discover his true path, despite the challenges.

The couple launched their iHeartRadio podcast a year after their departure from ABC News, candidly addressing their exit and the challenges they faced due to their relationship. Robach described their journey as "a year of hell," while also celebrating their love as "the most beautiful relationship I've ever had in my life."

She acknowledged the unexpected nature of love and the complexities of navigating such situations, stating, "In the end, all of us are always rooting for love. It doesn’t always happen when you want it to happen, where you want it to happen. And it's undeniable when it’s real and it’s something you have to navigate and it’s not easy."

Robach and Holmes' openness about their experiences highlights the resilience of the human spirit and the power of love in overcoming adversity. Their story serves as a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always a path towards healing and personal growth.
