‘Venom: The Last Dance’ trailer teases the return of Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man
Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for “Venom: The Last Dance,” the concluding film in the Spider-Man villain trilogy. Tom Hardy reprises his role as Eddie Brock, the journalist who bonds with the symbiote to become Venom.
Sony has marketed the movie as the final chapter, with the logline revealing that Eddie and Venom are on the run, hunted by both their worlds, leading to a climactic and devastating decision.
The trailer features intense symbiote action, including a scene where Hardy rides a Venom-ized horse. Additionally, Eddie faces a massive symbiote alien from Venom’s home planet and is pursued by government agents. Joining Hardy in the film are Juno Temple from “Ted Lasso” and Chiwetel Ejiofor from “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.”
However, a noteworthy detail in the trailer has generated significant fan excitement. Rhys Ifans, who portrayed the Lizard in “The Amazing Spider-Man,” makes an appearance, sparking speculation that Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man might make at least a cameo in the movie.
“Venom 3” was confirmed by Sony at CinemaCon 2022, following the success of its predecessors. The first “Venom” film grossed $856 million globally, while “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” earned $502 million worldwide despite a pandemic release. Kelly Marcel, who wrote the previous films, makes her directorial debut with “The Last Dance” and co-wrote the script with Hardy. Marcel and Hardy also serve as producers alongside Avi Arad, Hutch Parker, Amy Pascal, and Matt Tolmach.
“Venom: The Last Dance” is set to hit theaters on October 25.
