Suits reunion sparks movie hopes as Patrick J. Adams hints at big-screen potential
Patrick J. Adams, known for his role as Mike Ross in the legal drama Suits, sparked excitement at the ATX TV Festival in Austin, Texas, by hinting at the potential for a Suits movie. During a reunion panel on June 2, Adams addressed an audience question about the possibility of a big-screen adaptation, following the trend of other USA Network shows.
"Yes, and I say that being a person who has no power or authority, but obviously there's a Suits: L.A. show that is being made that is the focus of [Suits creator] Aaron [Korsh]. I think he would agree," said the actor. He further revealed that Korsh is interested in the idea of reuniting the cast for a movie, although it would depend on various factors.
The reunion panel, marking five years since the show's finale, brought together Adams and several of his co-stars, including Sarah Rafferty, Dulé Hill, Abigail Spencer, and Amanda Schull. The event coincided with a renewed interest in Suits following its debut on Netflix in June 2023, which led to record-breaking viewership numbers.
Despite the upcoming spin-off series Suits: L.A., featuring a new cast, the possibility of a movie with the original cast remains open. Lex Scott Davis, who has been cast in the spin-off, expressed her enthusiasm for the idea and hinted at potential crossovers.
The original Suits series, which aired from 2011 to 2019, starred Adams alongside Meghan Markle, Gabriel Macht, Gina Torres, and Rick Hoffman, among others. The show's popularity has endured, making the prospect of a reunion movie even more enticing for fans.
