Cher has expressed her support for her boyfriend, Alexander "AE" Edwards, following his involvement in a physical altercation with rapper Travis Scott at an afterparty during the Cannes Film Festival.
The 78-year-old singer took to social media platform X, writing, "He Didn’t Start The fight Against 2 Men,… He finished it, Gotta Love Him," and shared how "proud" she was of Edwards for his handling of the situation.
The altercation reportedly occurred at Richie Akiva’s annual “The After” afterparty, where Edwards, 38, and Scott, 33, clashed. Witnesses claim the fight began when Scott, upset with Akiva for acknowledging Edwards and Tyga, grabbed the microphone. Edwards intervened, leading to a brawl that saw "models flying everywhere" and an ice bucket being used as a weapon.
Edwards later addressed the incident to TMZ, stating, "I don’t want to fight. I don’t want to initiate that s—t. I’m gonna protect myself and my people." He also emphasized that he and Cher, whom he referred to as "my woman," are "happy" together.
Despite the history between Tyga and Scott, both of whom have dated Kylie Jenner, sources indicated that the fight was not related to their past relationships but stemmed from other tensions. Security eventually intervened, and no serious injuries were reported.
Cher and Edwards have been publicly together since September 2023, and they have frequently been seen at events, including Paris Fashion Week. Their relationship continues to be strong, with close sources describing them as having "amazing chemistry."
