The wife of Vietnam's ambassador was found by federal police within an hour of Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s notice. She had gone missing after leaving home in a distressed state.

According to police sources, the ambassador reported to the Margalla police station and the police helpline on Sunday afternoon that his wife had left their residence at 11am for a beauty parlour but had not returned after several hours.

In response, a police team was formed under the supervision of SP City. Interior Minister Naqvi, currently on a visit to the UK, took notice of the situation and instructed IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to expedite the search for the ambassador’s wife. He also directed Rizvi to personally visit the ambassador’s residence, brief him on the efforts, and gather more information.

IGP Rizvi, accompanied by SSP Operations, visited the ambassador’s home to update him on the police efforts. Following Naqvi’s notice, seven additional police teams were formed. They were provided with photographs of the ambassador’s wife and utilised Safe City cameras to trace her movements from F-8/1, where she had left her home.

The police located her using a combination of surveillance footage and cellular technology. The entire search operation took four hours, with the final hour being the most crucial following the minister's notice. She was subsequently handed over to her husband, who then returned to their residence.

A spokesperson for Islamabad police stated, “Within four hours, Islamabad police traced the wife of Vietnam's ambassador. Seven teams worked on this case using Safe City cameras and cellular technology. The lady has been sent home with her husband.”

IGP Ali Nasir Rizvi commended DIG Operations and his team for their dedicated efforts in swiftly resolving the case.
