No bad blood: Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor split after six years together
Bollywood couple Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor have always been cautious about sharing details of their personal lives, despite being open about their relationship status. Since making their relationship official in 2018, the duo has now set the gossip mills abuzz with rumours of an alleged breakup, as per a Pinkvilla report.
According to the report, “Malaika and Arjun had a very special relationship and both of them will continue to hold a special place in each others' hearts. They have chosen to part ways and will maintain a dignified silence in this matter. They won’t allow anyone to drag and dissect their relationship.”
The report further stated, “They had a long, loving, fruitful relationship that has unfortunately run its course now. That doesn’t mean there is any bad blood between them. They respect each other hugely and have been a pillar of strength for each other. Over the years, they have given their relationship a lot of respect. They will continue to give each other the same respect despite them deciding to part ways. Both of them were in a serious relationship for years, and they expect people to be gracious enough to give them space at this emotional time.”
However, Malaika's manager apparently denied rumours of a breakup while talking to India Today. When quizzed whether the Bollywood couple has parted ways, the manager was quoted as saying, “No no, all rumours.”
A source close to the actors has also confirmed the breakup, describing it as “amicable.” They told IANS, "Going by Arjun's body language and how he is right now, it has happened. They have been dating for so long; hence, it has been very peaceful, dignified, and respectful.”
Fans and well-wishers are conflicted over which side to believe, especially since Arjun had previously opened up about the possibility of marrying Malaika. Last year, during an appearance on Koffee with Karan, Arjun was asked whether the couple had any plans to take their relationship to the next level anytime soon.
At the time, Arjun shared, “I think this is the part of my life that right now I want to take it as it comes,” Arjun told Karan. “I think it’s unfair to be sitting here without her and talking about the future. Once we reach that stage, we will come and talk about it together. I’m very very happy where I am, and I think we make no bones about the fact that we survived through whatever we’ve had to be in this comfortable happy space.”
