Danish-born American actor and filmmaker Giancarlo Esposito is venturing into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with an undisclosed role in "Captain America: Brave New World."

The "Breaking Bad" and "The Mandalorian" star joins the sequel as it undergoes reshoots in Atlanta, adding new action sequences to the project.

Esposito, no stranger to superhero projects, has previously lent his voice to various animated adaptations, including "Harley Quinn" and "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem."

While his exact role in "Brave New World" remains a mystery, fan speculation has him pegged for characters like Magneto, Professor X, Galactus, or Doctor Doom.

The actor recently teased his involvement in the MCU at Phoenix Fan Fusion, hinting at an unpredictable role and a subsequent series. At a previous event in Mexico City, he clarified that he wouldn't be playing Charles Xavier but promised the character would be "better than you can imagine."

Esposito's 2024 is already packed with projects, including appearances in the horror film "Abigail," Francis Ford Coppola's "Megalopolis," and the Russo brothers' "The Electric State." He also led the TV series "Parish" and featured in Guy Ritchie's "The Gentlemen."

He had also played the role of the antagonist in Ubisoft's  PlayStation game “Far Cry 6” in 2021.

Meanwhile, "Captain America: Brave New World" picks up where "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier" left off, with Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson embracing the Captain America mantle.

The film, directed by Julius Onah, will also feature characters from "The Incredible Hulk," including Samuel Sterns, Betty Ross, and Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross, now played by Harrison Ford.

Following several delays, "Captain America: Brave New World" is set to hit theatres on February 14, 2025.
