Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight postponed over health issues
The much-awaited showdown between former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson and YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has been delayed due to Tyson's health issues.
A press release issued by Paul's promotion company, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), confirmed that the fight, originally scheduled for July 20th at AT&T Stadium, has been postponed.
The decision came after Tyson, 57, was advised by doctors to reduce his training intensity for the next few weeks to recover from an ulcer flare-up.
Both fighters agreed that postponing the event was the fairest course of action.
In the press release, Tyson expressed his gratitude for the support of his fans and apologised for the inconvenience caused by the postponement. He assured everyone that he is in good health and eager to return to full training soon, aiming to deliver an "unforgettable performance" later this year.
Paul also expressed his understanding and support for Tyson's decision, emphasising his desire to face Tyson at his best. He promised to be fully prepared and deliver a sensational finish when the fight eventually takes place.
MVP anticipates rescheduling the match to later this year at the same venue, AT&T Stadium. The new date will be announced by Friday, June 7th.
Ticket Holders have the option to retain their tickets for the rescheduled event or request a refund through SeatGeek.
The postponement is a setback for fans who were eagerly anticipating the clash between the boxing legend and the social media star.
However, both fighters remain committed to delivering an exciting and well-prepared contest once Tyson has fully recovered.
