Megan Thee Stallion's legal team says former cameraman's harassment claims "Fabricated"
Megan Thee Stallion's legal team is firing back at the harassment lawsuit filed by her former cameraman, Emilio Garcia.
In a recent court filing as reported by PEOPLE, her lawyers, Mari Henderson and Alex Spiro, dismissed Garcia's claims as "fabricated" and "outlandish," accusing him of seeking to exploit the legal system for publicity to boost his singing career.
Garcia's lawsuit, filed in April, alleged that Megan created a hostile work environment, subjected him to sexual harassment, and failed to pay him properly. He also claimed that the rapper "fat-shamed" him. However, Megan's lawyers deny these accusations, stating that Garcia repeatedly falsified invoices, overcharged for services, and was ultimately terminated for his misconduct.
The filing further claims that Garcia's lawsuit is a "factually and legally frivolous complaint" fueled by anger over losing his job. Megan's legal team argues that the case should be moved to federal court, as it has no connection to California state court.
Garcia's lawsuit included a graphic allegation of being forced to witness Megan engaging in sexual activity with another woman in an SUV during a trip to Ibiza. However, Megan's lawyer, Alex Spiro, previously dismissed this as a salacious attempt to embarrass the rapper.
Garcia's attorney, Ron Zambrano, responded to Megan's latest filing, accusing her of attempting to "shame the victim and shift blame from their own abhorrent behaviour." He maintains that Garcia's claims are valid and that Megan broke the law.
Meanwhile, Megan is currently on her first-ever headlining Hot Girl Summer tour, which has seen her release a new remix of her song "Wanna Be" featuring Cardi B. Despite the ongoing legal battle, Megan seems determined to focus on her career and continue her success in the music industry.
