John Legend recently expressed his horror at the abuse allegations against Sean "Diddy" Combs, including those made by his ex-girlfriend Casandra 'Cassie' Ventura.

In a recent interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour, Legend stated he was deeply disturbed by both the initial descriptions and the subsequent video evidence released by CNN, which showed Combs physically assaulting Ventura.

"My default stance is to believe women when they make these accusations and to make sure that we do whatever we can to support women," Legend asserted. He stressed the importance of ensuring survivors are heard and that accountability and reparations are pursued to help them heal.

Legend's comments come in the wake of multiple women accusing Combs of abuse, with Ventura's lawsuit alleging rape and sex trafficking during their 10-year relationship. While Combs has apologised for his actions in the released video, calling them "inexcusable," the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has stated they cannot press charges due to the statute of limitations.

The singer, who previously collaborated with Combs on the song "Kim Porter," expressed his desire for accountability and healing for all of Combs' alleged victims. Legend's stance highlights the ongoing conversation about believing and supporting survivors of abuse, emphasising the need for systemic change to address these issues.
