Ivanka Trump voices support for father after guilty verdict in Hush Money trial
Ivanka Trump, the former first daughter and special advisor during Donald Trump's presidency, has publicly supported her father following his conviction in a high-profile hush money trial. Shortly after Donald Trump was found guilty on all felony charges, Ivanka shared a nostalgic photo on Instagram of her younger self on her father's lap, captioned with a heartfelt "I love you dad," accompanied by a heart emoji.
The jury convicted the former president on 34 counts of falsifying business records related to a $130,000 payment meant to silence porn star Stormy Daniels about their alleged 2006 sexual encounter, which Trump denies.
The verdict was delivered at 4:20 pm on Thursday, moments before the court was to adjourn for the day.
While Ivanka shows unwavering support, Melania Trump, the former First Lady, has remained notably absent from the public eye during the six-week trial and has yet to make a statement.
In contrast to the silence from Melania, Donald Trump Jr. has been outspoken, criticizing the verdict on X as "Such bulls***" and condemning the political implications of his father's prosecution. “The Democrats have succeeded in their years long attempt to turn America into a third-world s******. November 5 is our last chance to save it,” he expressed vehemently.
Despite the conviction, Donald Trump, who is running in the 2024 presidential race, continues to assert his innocence.
Post-verdict, outside the Manhattan courthouse, he described the trial as "rigged" and "a disgrace," lamenting that "the country was going to hell."
Donald Trump is scheduled to return to the Manhattan criminal court on July 11 for sentencing.
