5 things every ‘Animal’ fan should know about the sequel ‘Animal Park’
Fans of the hyper-violent crime film can brace themselves for the much-anticipated release of the Animal sequel titled, Animal Park. While it was hinted at during the first film's post-credits scene, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga confirmed the second installation in December through a post on T Series’ Instagram account. Anticipating its release with bated breath, here are five things we know about Animal Park so far:
Double role
In the post-credits scene of Animal, Vanga tantalised viewers with the introduction of Aziz, a bloodier and more formidable character, portrayed once again by Ranbir Kapoor. In a surprising twist, Aziz, a vengeful butcher on a quest for revenge, undergoes plastic surgery to resemble Ranbir’s character, Ranvijay Balbir Singh, setting the stage for an inevitable showdown between the two.
A darker plot
Despite our doubts about the possibility of delving into darker territory, Vanga assured fans that he's prepared to navigate even deeper into the shadows with this new film, as reported by DNA India. “Ranbir and I have another idea to collaborate on, a very dark one. We thought if the film finds success, we should certainly venture into the shadows,” shared the director.
In a recent conversation with Anubhav Singh Bassi, Ranbir confirmed that the sequel will be bolder. “Now, because of the success of part one, Vanga has the confidence and courage to go even darker, deeper and more complex. He can do anything,” stated the Bollywood star.
New collaborations
When the sequel was confirmed by T-Series, its Instagram account shared photos featuring producer Bhushan Kumar and Vanga, affirming their partnership on the upcoming sequel. The caption read, “It's a partnership built on trust, fuelled by creative freedom, and fortified by an unbreakable bond.”
Excitement is promised
During the same aforementioned interview with Anubhav, Ranbir spilled some beans on the much-anticipated sequel’s script. He revealed, “There were many aspects where Sandeep was very secretive about his script. For Animal Park, he has one or two scenes ready, which he narrated to me, and they are very exciting. “
Rumoured release
According to recent updates from Mid-Day, the groundwork for the sequel had been laid out in tandem with the original script for Animal, underscoring the project's multi-film vision from the start. According to the same report, while Ranbir is presently focused on filming Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, production for Animal Park is slated to kick off in 2025. This means it could be released as soon as late next year.
