Ukrainian model Sawa Pontyjska has filed a legal complaint against the Cannes Film Festival, alleging physical assault and psychological damage after an encounter with a female security guard on the red carpet.

In an interview with the BBC, Pontyjska recounted the incident, claiming the guard locked her in a "bear hug" while she was trying to enter the premiere of Marcello Mio on May 21st. Pontyjska stated she was scared and tried to escape, but the guard allegedly pushed and kicked her out through a back door.

A video of the confrontation, shared by Pontyjska on TikTok, has gone viral, showing the guard attempting to drag Pontyjska inside the event. Pontyjska is seeking 100,000 euros in damages for the "acute pain" and "psychological trauma" she allegedly suffered.
