Kim Kardashian channels 'Sex and the City' vibes in potential new series after ‘AHS’ success
Kim Kardashian is making waves in the acting world with her acclaimed performance in the latest season of "American Horror Story: Delicate," where she plays the role of publicist Siobhan Corbyn.
During Thursday's episode of "The Kardashians" on Hulu, viewers got a behind-the-scenes look at Kim's transition from reality TV star to actress, a move that has garnered attention from heavyweights in the industry.
Following the premiere of her season on "American Horror Story," veteran TV producer Ryan Murphy met with Kim and her mother, Kris Jenner, to discuss the possibility of her starring in her own television show.
Murphy was impressed with Kim's performance, noting, "You were really, really good to the point where they called me and were like, 'Do you think Kim would want to do her own show?'"
Kim, surprised and flattered by the offer, reflected on her potential in acting, humorously commenting in her confessional, "F**k, what did I get myself into? Can I really pull this off? But I think I can."
The proposed series would see Kim portraying the world's best and most expensive divorce lawyer, heading an all-female law firm—a concept Kim finds fitting given her personal experiences.
"Kim is the world's best, most expensive divorce lawyer, and she has her own firm, and the thing about her firm is it's an all-female firm," Ryan elaborated during their discussion.
Drawing parallels with iconic shows like "Sex and the City," Ryan emphasized the series' focus on the strong bond among women navigating life's challenges together.
He added, "It has what Sex and the City has, which is girlfriends. It has a bond of women trying to get through an experience together."
Currently juggling her responsibilities as a mother of four, businesswoman, law student, and reality TV star, Kim is enthusiastic about the future, especially after completing law school.
With plans to take the bar exam in 2025, she is optimistic about dedicating more time to acting pursuits.
Ryan even quipped about the practicality of filming the show close to her home: "We have to build a soundstage outside your backdoor."
New episodes of "The Kardashians" stream on Hulu every Thursday, where viewers can follow Kim's exciting foray into the acting world.
