In 2021, Netflix acquired the rights to two Knives Out sequels in a groundbreaking $469 million deal. The first follow-up, "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery," was released in December 2022, and fans eagerly awaited news of the third instalment.

In May 2024, director Rian Johnson unveiled a teaser for the upcoming film, titled "Wake Up Dead Man," confirming Daniel Craig's return as the enigmatic detective Benoit Blanc. The teaser hinted at Blanc's "most dangerous case yet," leaving fans speculating about the plot and setting.

Craig, in a previous interview with Variety, expressed his enthusiasm for continuing the role as long as Johnson keeps writing the films. Johnson, in turn, envisions the franchise as an ongoing series rather than a trilogy, promising to explore different tones and narratives with each new instalment.

The director has been open about his excitement for "Wake Up Dead Man," teasing that it will be a departure from the previous films in terms of both setting and narrative style. While the plot details remain tightly under wraps, Johnson confirmed that he has a clear vision for the film and is eager to start production.

In May 2024, the star-studded cast was announced by Variety, including Josh O'Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Kerry Washington, Glenn Close, and Andrew Scott. However, the details about their roles remain a mystery, adding to the anticipation surrounding the film.

With production underway and a 2025 release date on the horizon, "Wake Up Dead Man" promises to be another thrilling addition to the Knives Out franchise. Fans can look forward to another captivating mystery filled with unexpected twists and turns, guided by the brilliant detective Benoit Blanc.
