Nicole Brown Simpson's sister confesses: "I Was Happy OJ Died!"
Denise Brown, sister of the late Nicole Brown Simpson, expressed mixed emotions following O.J. Simpson's death in April.
"At first I was happy, and it was like, relief. And then I was sad for the kids," Denise told People magazine. Nicole Brown Simpson and O.J. Simpson were married from 1985 to 1992 and had two children together. O.J. Simpson was acquitted by a jury in 1995 for the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.
Denise Brown also spoke about her sister's relationship with O.J. Simpson, revealing that Nicole had confided in her about a violent incident. "I asked her all the 'Whys' that you don't ask... 'Why don't you just get out of this relationship? Why don't you just leave him?'"
Denise told Diane Sawyer on an ABC special. Denise added, "Those are things that you don't say, and I didn't realize that at the time"
Separate from these comments, Denise Brown has also spoken about finding a polaroid of Nicole with a bruised face that Nicole claimed was makeup for a film shoot. Nicole's sister Dominique Brown later discovered diaries detailing alleged abuse by O.J. Simpson.
A new Lifetime documentary, "The Life & Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson," is scheduled to air on June 1 and 2.
