Travis Kelce laughs off boos in Dallas, embraces role as ‘Taylor Swift's boyfriend’
Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and Super Bowl champion, proved he's got a sense of humor to match his formidable sports skills this Sunday.
At game three of the NBA Western Conference finals in Texas, Kelce was cheekily dubbed ‘Taylor Swift's boyfriend’ in a playful jab from the Dallas Mavericks.
Despite the ribbing, Kelce showed he could shake off the rivalry like a true sportsman.
Sitting courtside alongside teammate and friend Patrick Mahomes, Kelce seemed unfazed by the mixed reception from the crowd.
"Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce was referred to simply as 'Taylor Swift's boyfriend' in a cheeky post from the Dallas Mavericks," highlighted the light-hearted nature of the evening.
While Kelce received boos after his face popped up on the jumbotron, the atmosphere quickly warmed up when Mahomes was spotlighted, eliciting cheers from the audience.
Despite not being direct rivals with the Dallas Cowboys, the Chiefs have stirred up a robust competitive spirit among NFL fans, especially after clinching their third Vince Lombardi trophy in February — marking two consecutive wins in a span of five years.
Mahomes, a Texas Tech alum, and his wife, Brittney Mahomes, also enjoyed the game from a courtside view.
Both hail from Tyler, Texas, and Mahomes has never shied away from expressing his support for Dallas-based sports teams, including the Mavericks and the NHL's Dallas Stars.
