Youm-e-Takbeer observed with fervor
Like other parts of the country, Youm-e-Takbeer was also observed in Quetta and other parts of Balochistan on Tuesday. Different political parties, civil society groups, and individuals from diverse backgrounds united to honor former premiers Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif.
Youm-e-Takbeer, observed on May 28, commemorates the historic 1998 day when Pakistan conducted nuclear tests in the hills of Chagai, Balochistan, thereby becoming the seventh nuclear nation globally and the first Muslim state with a nuclear arsenal.
Meanwhile, like other provinces, Youm-e-Takbeer was also celebrated with great national enthusiasm in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, including merged tribal areas.
From Chitral to DI Khan and Kohistan to Waziristan, the residents of all districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, officials of the government departments, NGOs, civil society organizations, intelligentsia, labourers and students participated in big rallies, seminars, declamation contests and walks to celebrate Youm-e-Takbeer with immense zeal and enthusiasm.
