Senior officers and soldiers from the Pakistan Army attended the funeral prayers, says ISPR

Five soldiers who were martyred in a gun battle with terrorists in the Bagh area of Peshawar district were buried with full military honours in their native villages on Tuesday, the military said in a statement.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the martyred soldiers, Naik Muhammad Ashfaq Butt, Lance Naik Syed Danish Afkar, Sepoy Taimur Malik, Sepoy Nadir Sagheer, and Sepoy Muhammad Yaseen, were laid to rest amid a solemn and emotional atmosphere.

Senior officers and soldiers from the Pakistan Army attended the funeral prayers, along with a large gathering of the martyrs' relatives, friends, and local residents.

A day earlier, the funeral prayers of the martyrs were offered in  Peshawar garrison which was attended by army chief General Syed Asim Munir and a large number of civil and military officials.

Later, the army chief visited the military hospital to inquire about the troops injured during the operations.

He appreciated their high morale and reaffirmed the resolve of the nation to fight terrorism with full vigour and spirit.
