Academy Award-nominated actor Bradley Cooper traded the silver screen for the stage this weekend, living out a musical fantasy with Pearl Jam at the BottleRock Napa Valley music festival.

Cooper joined Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder for a powerful rendition of "Maybe It's Time" from the 2018 film "A Star is Born."

Vedder introduced Cooper with a warm welcome: "Please, would you join me in welcoming to the stage my great, great pal Bradley Cooper."

The camaraderie wasn't simply for show. Cooper and Vedder struck up a friendship before filming "A Star is Born," with Cooper crediting the Pearl Jam frontman for invaluable advice on portraying his rockstar character, Jackson Maine.

"I went up to Seattle and spent four or five days with him and I asked him 9,000 questions," Cooper told Yahoo Movies. "And he gave me minor, little things that only musicians know about what to do, just aesthetically and the inner workings."

While their friendship blossomed, Vedder wasn't initially sold on the idea of remaking the classic "A Star is Born" story. "He thought it was crazy I was going to do this movie," Cooper revealed. Vedder reportedly told Cooper, "What? Bro, don't do that."

Despite initial skepticism, "A Star is Born" proved to be a critical and commercial success. The film garnered eight Oscar nominations, including Best Actor and Best Director for Cooper.

The soundtrack also brought Cooper chart success, with "Maybe It's Time" becoming his first solo entry on the Billboard Hot 100.

The song, written by Jason Isbell, was produced by Cooper and Benjamin Rice with additional vocals by Lady Gaga.

Vedder previously covered "Maybe It's Time" in 2019, but this BottleRock performance marked the first time he performed it live with Cooper.

The actor even returned to the stage for an encore performance of Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World," bringing his rockstar fantasy full circle.
