Lady Gaga’s Chromatica Ball: teases LG7 album and ‘A Star Is Born’ co star William makes a cameo
Lady Gaga has unveiled her highly anticipated concert film, Chromatica Ball.
To fans' delight, the film matched the wild, bold, and unapologetically pop nature of the Chromatica album that inspired it, and even includes an exciting hint about LG7, the fan nickname for Gaga’s upcoming album.
Recorded before an audience of over 52,000 during the Sept. 10, 2022, show at Los Angeles' Dodger Stadium, Gaga's Chromatica Ball was self-directed, showcasing the entire concert from start to finish.
Though the film lacks major surprises and omits documentary-style behind-the-scenes segments, it remains a compelling highlight reel of one of Gaga's most immersive and elaborately designed tours.
Lady Gaga’s new album: LG7
As one era concludes, another begins. Gaga was unusually secretive leading up to her Chromatica era, which started almost four years after 2016's Joanne.
As Gaga exits the stage at the end of the concert film, a snippet of a new song plays, featuring her singing "dance in the shadow of the night." The words "LG7" and "Gaga returns" briefly flash on the screen.
This is the biggest hint yet at new music from Gaga, who has been teasing the project for months. She has posted images of herself recording new material, using monster emojis and phrases like "tik tok tik tok" to keep fans speculating about the sound of her next era.
