In a public display of misuse of official authority, a police officer allegedly beat a teenager for fighting with his son in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The disturbing incident was caught on camera and the video has since gone viral on social media.
The video purportedly shows the police officer, identified as ‘DSP Abdul Rauf’, his sons, and colleagues, beating the 16-year-old Abdul Rehman with an iron rod while trying to rescue the teenager. The police officer brandished a weapon and hurled threats, citing his position as a DSP.
According to Abdul Rahman’s father, the brawl started between his son and a fellow student, who happened to be the son of a police officer, during their matric exams in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. In a fit of rage, Abdul Rauf, along with his colleagues and other sons, viciously assaulted Abdul Rehman with an iron rod.
Abdul Rahman is currently under treatment for head injuries at a hospital. He has undergone two CT scans within the past five hours, indicating the extent of his serious injuries. A case has been registered against Abdul Rauf, Hashir, Rehan, and other accomplices involved in the incident.
