SC, Türkiye court to sign MoU today
.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan and the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on judicial cooperation today (Monday).
This event will take place at the Supreme Court building in Islamabad as the apex court hosts a high-level delegation from Türkiye's Constitutional Court, led by its president Kadir Özkaya from April 6 to April 9. The delegation also includes distinguished judges and senior officials.
According to a statement issued by the SC on Sunday, the MoU is expected to establish a structured and forward-looking framework for collaboration, focusing on judicial exchange, capacity building, and sharing best practices in adjudication.
The initiative reflects the shared commitment of Pakistan and Türkiye to strengthening constitutional governance, upholding the rule of law, and reinforcing judicial independence, as well as fostering closer institutional linkages between their superior courts.
A central feature of the proposed cooperation is the professional development of the judiciary, particularly at the district level, through joint training programmes, academic exchanges, and exposure to comparative judicial practices.
The collaboration is also expected to support integrating modern technologies into judicial processes, aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, and access to justice.
